Fees and Payment Policies – Mediation

NOTE: Mediation services are not covered or reimbursed by your health insurance.

Fees

Mediation Services are billed at a rate of $225 per hour for all services provided. Together, you and the other party entering mediation are jointly responsible for the fees for services.

Services include, but are not limited to: time spent with you and/or other parties in the case, time required to study documents, research issues, information gathering, correspondence with others, telephone calls to you and/or on your behalf, email review and correspondence, preparation of draft and final documents and agreements, and any other reasonably necessary tasks to facilitate your final negotiated agreement.

Expenses incurred as a result of providing the above services will also be billed for reimbursement. Expenses that may be part of the mediation process include, but are not limited to: long distance telephone charges, copy costs, postage, etc.

Retainers

An initial retainer of $900 will be made payable to “Lisa Gabardi, Ph.D., LLC” with your acceptance to employ me as your mediator. Billed services and expenses will be deducted from the retainer at the rates quoted above. Any unused balance of the retainer fee will be refunded upon completion of the mediation process and associated documents.

You and the other party involved in the mediation will be jointly responsible for fees and expenses associated with the mediation, as well as individually accountable for the payment of such fees. After the entire balance of the retainer has been applied, payments for appointment times are due at the time of the appointment. You will receive your own monthly accounting statement of fees and expenses incurred in between appointments that are related to the mediation process. After your full retainer has been applied to these expenses, any remaining balance will be expected to be paid in full no later than 15 days from the billing date.

Cancellation Fees

A one hour charge is assessed for any cancellations that occur less than 48 hours before a scheduled appointment. Exceptions will only be made for real and verifiable emergencies.
